about

Meera was born a princess in Rajasthan back in the 16th century . But the worldly life in the royal court left her unsatisfied.
Instead, she fell in love with the Divine in the form of Lord Krishna and escaped from the palace and started singing and dancing
in front of one of his temples. Everybody thought she had gone crazy . But Meera was not mad at all.
However, the shame was unacceptable for the royal family and her very own husband tried to poison her. But her love for Krishna was so strong that the poison turned to nectar and didn't harm her. Thus people became aware that her love was not ordinary. They stopped laughing at her and started worshipping her as a saint. Down through the ages India brought forth not only male saints but many courageous
women like Meera who were recognised as spiritual masters while still alive. The India of that time was truly the right breeding ground for spiritual development. This song is dedicated to Meera – one of
the greatest saints and poets India has ever produced.

lyrics

Mere Man Ke Mohan
Main Hoon Prem Abhilaashi
Tumhaari Maya
Charanan Ki Daasi
Mere Shyaam Bihari
Main Hoon Prem Abhilashi
Tumhari Meera
Charanan Ki Daasi

Oh my beloved Krishna
I yearn for your love
I am like an Illusion
I will be your devotee all my life
Oh my Krishna
I am longing for your love
I am your Meera
I will serve you all my life
