  This song is offered in loving memory of Shyam Das, Bhakta, kirtan wallah, scholar and adored friend, who was taken from this world on Saturday by a motorcycle accident in India. This rousing version of "Hare Krishna" was recorded at the Omega Ecstatic Chant retreat, and finds him the way we should remember him: with overflowing heart, in full-throated devotion.
  
  Here is a remembrance of Shyam Das from Stephan Rechtschaffen, co-founder of the Omega Institute:
  
  "like many of you, my life has been so deeply touched by Shyam Das, my dearest spiritual brother - through chant or poetry, wisdom or cackling laughter, irreverence or devotion - always entranced by spiritual love and the bhav. A rare being intoxicated with a love for the divine - a moth to the flame of the divine - Shyam's ride through life has always been full throttle - late nights of chant - no sleep - early sadhana - cooking up a quick feast - then off in a dash to share this love and chant with new friends. Still riding his motorcycle through India at his age was sheer madness - yet his love for life and Krishna is divine madness - now he's returned to the light he's been seeking.
