Inspired by the atmosphere of tropical monsoon rains and misty rice fields, this song originated in an off-season journey to Bali. Our many instruments
with us, we travelled through all the rich beauty of the island in a very slow old jeep with no windscreen
wipers and a leaking canvas roof. Due to the continuous rains there was plenty of time to play music under the
big shelters of traditional Balinese houses.
It felt like the raindrops and the jungle birds were teaching me this song. — As we travelled the world on our busy concert tours, this song continued to pick up various musical souvenirs from different countries, finally evolving into the cosmopolitan track that it is now.
In a unique combination with the Indonesian gamelan and bamboo flute you can hear the Brazilian berimbao, the African kalimba, the Caribbean steel drum, soprano sax and last but not least - the Indian sitar, making its entrance like a wise old king...
